Job description
Night Leader £36,000 - £40,000
Sunday to Thursday, 10pm to 6am.
Purpose:
Leading the entire Nights Kitchen teams in helping to deliver high quality and attractive meals and to work within the Kitchen Leadership Team to deliver Britain’s Best Kitchen.
Main responsibilities:
Site Leadership
- As part of the Kitchen Leadership Team, contribute to the development and delivery of the plans to deliver the vision of Britain’s Best Kitchens
- Provide expertise and guidance within the team to drive efficiency and optimum stock levels
- Work with the Head Chef, Production Manager, Technical Lead, Site planner and the Lead Engineer to develop and deliver Continuous Improvement activities within the kitchen
Lead Remarkable People:
* Role model safe behaviour
* Deliver site Health and Safety improvement plans
* Deliver the expected GMP scores by working closely with all kitchen’s areas in following rules
* Ensure fully trained and competent teams and deliver plans to support development of future stars
* Complete regular check-in’s with direct team at least weekly, providing content for their 1:1’s with their Heads of Department
* Mentor and support Ops Academy activities and attendees
* Be constantly visible in the kitchen and role model COOK values
* Drive utilisation of team selfies and contracts
* Ensure the delivery of weekly Huddles and a regular recognitions culture
* Implement co-created practices to deliver “Best Company” results
Deliver Awesome Efficiency:
* Assist in managing and delivering the kitchen budget and daily production plans and ensure delivery to financial product standard costs
* Lead activities to Continuously Improve performance
Drive for Zero Waste
* Identify and implement plans to reduce food waste
* Actively seek to reduce energy and water usage throughout the kitchen
* Implement plans to support delivery of other sustainability goals
Present a Kitchen Mindset
* Role model a Kitchen Mindset regarding general standards and food quality
Ensure active engagement in the Taste Panel – the “Most Important Meeting in the Kitchen*”
* Develop and deliver activities to “engage with food”
Good to have :
* Food Safety level 3
* IOSH trained
* Understanding of Continuous Improvement techniques
* Experience in team and individual leadership
* Good communicator with suitable IT Skills
