Position: Production Manager Location: Sittingbourne – COOK Pie & Pastry Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm will need some flexibility due to being a 24/7 operation Salary: 40 000 – 45 000 per year
Leading the teams in finishing, sealing, packing and despatch to deliver high quality and attractive meals and to work within the Kitchen Leadership Team to deliver Britain’s Best Kitchen.
The Role

We are now looking for a Production Manager to join our Kitchen Leadership Team, guiding our finishing, sealing, packing, and despatch teams to deliver consistently high-quality and beautifully presented meals. This role is about leading with purpose, driving efficiency, and helping us achieve our vision of building Britain’s Best Kitchen.
The Role
- Contribute to the development and delivery of Kitchen Leadership Team plans to support Britain’s Best Kitchen.
- Provide expertise in packing, labelling, and despatch processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and optimum stock levels.
- Work with the Head of Engineering to implement Continuous Improvement initiatives that deliver real value across the operation.
- Ensure quality, safety, and performance standards are consistently met.
Lead Remarkable People
- Role model safe behaviours and set the standard for the team.
- Deliver Health & Safety improvement plans and ensure compliance.
- Build and develop fully trained and competent teams, supporting the growth of future talent.
- Carry out monthly 1-to-1s with direct reports.
- Mentor and support team members through Ops Academy initiatives.
- Be a visible and values-driven leader in the kitchen, demonstrating COOK values daily.
- Drive engagement through weekly huddles, recognition culture, and co-created practices to achieve “Best Company” results.
Deliver Awesome Efficiency
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure production is aligned with financial product cost standards.
- Lead continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support product development by ensuring finishing, packaging, and labelling requirements are fully considered.
What We’re Looking For
- Food Safety Level 3 qualification (desirable).
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership experience within food production or manufacturing.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with sound IT proficiency.
- A collaborative, values-led leader with the ability to inspire and empower teams.
