Head of Finishing

 

Location: Sittingbourne

Hours: Monday -Friday 8am - 4.00pm we are a 24/7 operation so flexibility for this role is essential

Pay rate :  £32,000 -£35,000 per year depending on experience 

 

Previous experience of having worked in the food industry, preferably food manufacturing is essential.

Attention to detail is paramount as you help create our remarkable products and ensure our customers receive the same exciting experience every time.  you will play a pivotal role in guiding and inspiring your team to achieve exceptional results. You will ensure that daily workloads are effectively planned, monitored, and executed while maintaining high-quality standards and aligning with the company’s core values.

 

The Role

 

  • Take action to ensure delivery of the weekly menu against financial and labour targets

  • Manage labour budgets and KPI's while identifying and delivering improvement opportunities Work with kitchen teams to improve yield and minimise waste Develop and implement plans to reduce waste of resources across the department

  • Lead and support Continuous Improvement (CI) activities to improve efficiency and performance

  • Manage held stock and investigate root causes of issue

  • Manage stock flow through the department to reduce the risk of product exceeding 36 hours  Work closely with engineering to improve equipment reliability and efficiency Set high standards for the area and implement plans to improve GMP and general standards

  • Lead and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring accidents, near misses and safety observations are reported, investigated and corrective actions implemented in a timely manner Take part in Taste Panels and encourage the team to do the same

  •  Strategic thinker with the ability to plan ahead and manage changing priorities * Strong people leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a large team 

  •  Experience managing labour budgets and driving performance improvements 

  • Passion for continuous improvement and problem solving

  •  High attention to detail and commitment to quality 

  •  A strong advocate for health, safety and wellbeing 

  •  Experience managing large teams (50+ people) is desirable but not essential - Across multiple shifts
