About COOK:

COOK is a pioneering frozen food company, since 1997 we’ve been making remarkable food for your freezer, prepared by hand at our Kitchens in Kent (savoury) and Somerset (puddings) using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home. It means our food looks and tastes homemade maybe even a bit better.

We’re market leaders and (more importantly) our food tastes incredible. We have over 90 shops and a rapidly growing online business.

We’re independent (family-owned) and always will be because it allows us to do things the right way, not the fast way. We believe in business as a force for good in society and have certified as one of the UK’s first B Corporations to help us measure what matters when it comes to our impact on our environment, our people and our community.

We share 5% of our annual profits with staff.

Purpose of the Role:

As COOK continues its rapid expansion, we are enhancing our digital capabilities and seeking a Senior UX and CRO Engineer to drive the improvement of user experiences and conversion rates across our digital platforms. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead UX Initiatives: Spearhead the design and enhancement of user experiences on the COOK website and digital platforms, ensuring intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.
  • Optimize Conversion Rates: Analyze user behavior and implement strategies to optimize conversion rates, including A/B testing, multivariate testing, and other CRO methodologies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with brand and marketing teams, product managers, and developers to transform design concepts into high-performing digital experiences.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize analytics tools to track user interactions, measure performance, and identify areas for improvement in both user experience and conversion rates.
  • Responsive Design: Ensure all digital interfaces are optimized for performance across various devices and screen sizes, adhering to modern web standards and best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with UX and CRO trends, tools, and technologies, applying best practices to enhance our digital presence.

Essential Skills Required:

  • Relevant experience in UX design and conversion rate optimization.
  • Proven expertise in UX principles, design tools (such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD), and CRO methodologies.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.js with previous commercial development experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in using A/B testing and Digital Experience tools like Google Analytics, ContentSquare, Convert.com, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts clearly.
  • Alignment with the values and ethos of COOK.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of SEO principles and their impact on UX and CRO.
