Job description

SEALING & PACKING TEAM MEMBER'S

2 Positions Monday - Friday 2pm - 10pm

No one wants a classic fish pie when they were expecting a sticky toffee pudding and you are the team that prevents that from happening.  Attention to detail is of the utmost importance as you seal, sleeve and box our remarkable products.  You do the final check of our products and ensure the weights are correct, the right sleeve is on the right product and the right product goes in the right box.  If you’re happy, our food can finally leave the building.

About COOK

COOK is a pioneering frozen food company, since 1997 we’ve been making remarkable food for your freezer, prepared by hand at our Kitchens in Kent (savoury) and Somerset (puddings) using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home. It means our food looks and tastes homemade maybe even a bit better.

We’re market leaders and (more importantly) our food tastes incredible. We have over 90 shops and a rapidly growing online business.

We’re independent (family-owned) and always will be because it allows us to do things the right way, not the fast way. We believe in business as a force for good in society and have certified as one of the UK’s first B Corporations to help us measure what matters when it comes to our impact on our environment, our people and our community.

We share 5% of our annual profits with staff.

The Role

  • Attention to detail is key.  Ensure all meals are sealed and boxed to the required standard in terms of accuracy, speed and presentation. You will also ensure that care is taken when sealing and boxing to minimise damage and wastage.

  • Prior to sealing products, you must ensure that all products that come through the freezer are frozen thoroughly and that the x-ray machine and metal detector are on the appropriate setting.

  • Ensure target weights have been met (this is a legal obligation) and that all corresponding paperwork has been completed.

  • Verify all paperwork is completed accurately and legibly.

  • Ensure blast freezers are defrosted on each shift and freezer management is done to the required standard.

  • Check that labels and sleeves are correct, prior to sleeving process.

Good to Have

Being able to work in a small team, communication is KEY.

NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in catering.
