About the Role
Our pioneering RAW Talent Programme (RAW stands for Ready And Working), supports people with barriers into sustained employment at COOK. This might be due to criminal convictions, time in prison, homelessness, mental ill-health, neurodiversity, or refugee status.
Finding a steady job, and an understanding employer, can be virtually impossible. Yet it is often one of the most important factors in helping someone get back on their feet. Since we started RAW Talent in 2014, we have supported over 250 people through the scheme, learning a huge amount along the way.
At COOK, we’re searching for a compassionate, people-focused Co-ordinator to support our RAW Talent programme. This role plays a key part in supporting both existing and potential RAW Talents, providing day-to-day guidance, encouragement, and practical support throughout their journey.
Key Responsibilities:
You will support the RAW Talent programme by helping oversee the day-to-day running of COOK’s flagship Social Impact programme, ensuring RAW Talents and those who work with us, receive consistent guidance, support, and encouragement by:
Buddying RAW Talents,* regularly checking in with RAW Talents during their first four months.
Acting as a key point of contact* for RAW Talents as questions or issues arise.
Lead on admin duties,* sorting out the coordination, and ensuring the smooth running of the programme.
Manage the RAW Talent inbox* responding promptly and helpfully to a wide range of enquiries.
You’ll also support on:
Recruitment and Referrals:* Liaising with existing partners and coordinate chats, ensuring smooth scheduling and follow-ups.
Internal and external communications:* Assist with communications to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
Delivery of Work Ready training:* Support the planning and delivery of training sessions for RAW Talents.
Kitchen Manager meetings and check-ins:* Support our people who are leading RAW Talents.
Internal updates:* Contribute to internal updates, engage colleagues with COOK’s purpose (Nourishing People & Planet) and the actions we are taking to deliver it.
Why join us
Meaningful Work*: COOK is a certified B Corp, and we’re on a mission to make a positive impact on both people and the planet.
Supportive Team*: Join a small, dedicated team in a complex and growing business where collaboration is key, and your work directly contributes to our purpose.
About COOK*
* COOK is a pioneering frozen food company. Since 1997, we’ve been making remarkable food for your freezer, prepared by hand at our Kitchens in Kent (savoury) and Somerset (puddings) using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home. It means our food looks and tastes homemade - maybe even a bit better.
* We’re market leaders and (more importantly) our food tastes incredible. We have over 100 shops, 1000 concession partners and a rapidly growing online business.
* We’re independent (family-owned) and always will be because it allows us to do things the right way, not the fast way. We believe in business as a force for good in society and have certified as one of the UK’s first B Corporations to help us measure what matters when it comes to our impact on our environment, our people, and our community.
