Assistant Project Manager – (Maternity Cover )
Location – Based in Sittingbourne (with flexibility for hybrid working).
Salary £30,000 - £35,000
Hours Mon–Fri 8:30am–5pm
This is a fixed-term role for 12 months, starting 4th August 2025, based in Sittingbourne, Kent
Purpose:
As COOK continues to deliver key infrastructure and development projects, we are looking for a confident and organised Assistant Project Manager to provide maternity cover within our Projects team. Working closely with design engineers and delivery leads, you’ll help ensure critical projects such as Project Vanilla (New Logistics) and Project Polar Vortex (New CKK Blast Freezers) are delivered on time and on budget ready to support COOK’s future growth.
Main responsibilities:
* Project Delivery:
* Manage the equipment purchase workstream for Project Vanilla – ensuring specifications, lead times, approvals and costs are all managed to ensure a successful outcome.
* Coordinate and report on project spend and financial performance, ensuring commercial control is maintained and communicated to all stakeholders.
* Provide administrative support to all projects – organising meetings, recording minutes, chasing actions, talking to contractors and any other tasks required.
* Lead the coordination of the COOK Puddings extension project to completion.
Team Collaboration:
* Work closely with the Projects GM, Design Engineers, internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.
* Ensure clear and consistent communication across stakeholders.
* Support procurement processes, supplier briefings, and documentation workflows.
* Help maintain project records and ensure governance and safety standards are upheld.
Ideally You Will Have
Experience in project management, construction, or engineering-related roles.
Basic financial literacy to support cost tracking and reporting.
Comfortable using MS Office (especially Excel) and project tools (e.g. Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar).
Understanding of health & safety, contractor management, and risk assessment principles.
